Job: Meeting/Event Planner

While I may be undeclared at the moment, I do have an interest in following in a communication major. I’m interested in taking a communication major since most people have said that it compliments my strengths.

  • Volt Information Services is a global services provider. Such services include its consulting group, the workforce solutions group, DTS (Design & Technical Services), and it’s various global locations. Volt is also a well-known provider having 35,000 employees across its 85 offices around the world.
  • I feel that I can offer my skills and strengths to the Volt Workforce solutions. For instance, one of the things that the job lists are communicating event details, developing floor plans, and diagraming activities. Concerning my strengths, I feel that my skill for communicating with others would work well in this job.

  • Starting in 1943, IKEA is a Swedish born company that is known for selling furniture and home accessories. It is also known for it’s simple and easy builds for their projects like tables or chairs. As of 2008, IKEA is the world’s largest furniture retailer.
  • The job in question is for the retail communication and events planner at the IKEA near my house. I feel that my ability to communicate among fellow workers will be pivotal for the job. This ability would be most useful in this job as one of my potential duties is to oversee the internal communication in the store and ensure the coordination of ownership and follow up.

  • Franken Enterprises is an agency that deals with public relations on social media. The company usually does PR work for sports and entertainment businesses. Outside of social media, they also do events like speeches or conferences.
  • The job that I’m looking forward to is an internship or an event planning/administrative assistance. One of the things I would be doing as an intern would be the planning of details for events. I feel that my skills in doing research and asking necessary questions will be great for this job.

  • Danielle Dearing is a professional event planner and coordinator. From what I have seen of her site, she presents herself as a capable person with experience. This comes from the fact that her blog contains information like recommendations congratulating her and a list of previous jobs she had.

Odette Clancy: https://www.linkedin.com/in/odette-clancy-408731106/

  • Odette presents herself as a person who is experienced with her job while being enthusiastic about it as well. How she presented herself was helped by the information that she provided. Namely, to prove how she’s good at taking various responsibilities, she lists the various interests she has and skills that she has ranged from event planning to event management.

  • From what I’ve seen of her blog, Davis presents herself as an educated and experienced individual in the event planning field. The most notable detail of her blog is the list of experiences that she listed. This list shows that Davis can work in a multitude of subjects from sales to planning weddings.

How I would make my own website:

To be quite honest, I’m not that familiar with using websites nor have had any job experience. If I were to position myself as a possible employee I would list certain facts I do know. Most notability, I would list my strengths and my experience in college and in high school.
